Anhydrous magnesium sulfate (MgSO4) is a colorless or white rhombic crystalline powder with a large water absorption capacity. After water absorption, magnesium sulfate MgSO4·nH2O with different numbers of crystal water is formed (n = 1,2,4,5,6,7). The final water absorption product was MgSO4·7H2O (below 48℃). Since anhydrous magnesium sulfate absorbs water faster, and is a neutral compound, it can not react chemically to various organic matter, so it is a commonly used desiccant, especially those organic matter that can not be dried with anhydrous calcium chloride.

2. magnesium sulfate as a bivalent salt, dissolved in the water phase, can improve the ionic concentration of the water phase, so that the solubility of W/O emulsifier in the water phase is reduced, that is, it can be better dissolved in the oil phase, so as to ensure that the emulsifier in the oil and water phases have a suitable dissolution, the resulting oil-water mask is more uniform, so that the stability of the final product can be improved.
